Give readers a place to meet your contributors.

Create the page in Shopify

1. Save the author or reviewer profile in Byline.
2. Open Links → Author pages → Create page in Shopify, or go directly to Online Store → Pages.
3. Give the page a clear title. Add an accurate biography, relevant experience and links to real work. Publish it when ready.
4. Copy its public URL. In Byline, choose Add link → Author profile, paste the URL and save.
5. Preview an assigned blog post. The contributor’s name on the Byline card links to the page.

What belongs on the page?

• The contributor’s name, portrait and a relevant biography.
• Accurate experience or qualifications related to the subjects they cover.
• Public professional links that identify the same person.
• Selected articles with useful link text.
• An explanation of review responsibilities when the person reviews content.

Author profile links and Website links are different

Author profile points to a page about this person: a Shopify page, a personal website or a public professional profile. Byline links their card name to it and can include it as an identity URL in structured data.

Website is a general website link, such as a company homepage. It appears as an icon when social links are shown. It is not used as the person’s identity URL.

Keep the information useful

Link to public pages and published articles. Keep roles and credentials current. Use only contributor photos and details you have permission to publish. The demo people on our marketing pages are fictional examples, not evidence of customer use.

Choose structured data that fits your theme

If your theme or another app already describes the article, inspect that output before adding another article object. Use the appropriate Byline schema mode and verify a published page. Read the author structured-data guide.
